About the Guild

Why an Accompanists’ Guild?

The Accompanists’ Guild of Queensland is a not-for-profit organisation set up in 1994 (incorporated in 1995). The Guild’s objectives are to promote the status of collaborative pianists and to encourage and assist in establishing a unified purpose and maintaining high ideals amongst accompanists in Queensland.

Organisation Purpose

With 70 members throughout Queensland, the Guild provides a contact point for accompanists, collaborative pianists and other musical groups. It also provides a forum in which to discuss matters of artistic and commercial relevance to the professional accompanist.

The Accompanists’ Guild of Queensland has links with the Accompanists’ Guild of South Australia and the Accompanists’ Guild of New South Wales. Our mission is to further promote the interests of our organization and our members to the community. We strive to make a difference by educating the public and expanding our reach. We wish to encourage and assist in establishing a unity of purpose and the maintenance of high ideals amongst accompanists in Queensland.

The Guild is an ideal source for accompanist contacts for Schools, Institutions or individuals searching for an accompanist. Our members provide accompaniment for exams, recitals, and concerts, or any other event where an accompanist is required.  The Guild does not organise work for its members, but is a reference point for names of accompanists across Queensland.
